A new magazine titled Press Releases

Posted in Media & PR by ATT on the September 18th, 2007

Jayvee Fernandez of A Bugged Life just gave this new contributor a new idea.

Why don’t someone just start a magazine that is filled with press releases?

The savings are huge.

The publisher only need to hire a freelance writer to go through the press releases maybe tweak it a little to make it magazine readable and splash a byline to the story.

Furthermore, since most press releases are in digital format, with a Ctrl-C and Ctrl-P, you have a website filled with content.

With some smart SEO-ing, every keyword the website has can help it be on the first on Page 1 of Google search results.

The rewards are great too.

Since there is so little human capital invested, the magazine can last about three years with advertisements.

Continue printing the press releases for three years and after that, only feature those who advertised in the magazine!

How about readers? Hmm.. there isn’t a legal need to do auditing so just give potential advertisers a print run number. Why not give it out for free? That would increase readership figures.

Any publisher interested to put this idea into action?
