I want the next SG PM to be a web2.0 junkie!

Posted in Uniquely Singapore, Web2.0 by the(new)mediaslut on the April 16th, 2008

Of course I want the next SG PM to go beyond kissing babies, I want him/her to be a web2.0 junkie!

I want Singapore Prime Minster v4.0 to address the nation “live” using ustream.tv during the National Day rally.

He/She should also start a blog titled “Inside the Istana!” and use ping.sg to aggregate his/her blog.

In the blog, my Prime Minister will put Advertlets and Nuffnang ads and donate all proceeds to give free broadband to all Singaporeans for a month every year.

Policies will be approved Digg style by the people, for the people, with the people.

The Prime Minster will have a Facebook account and start a closed group titled “The Singapore Cabinet”.

Switch on a notebook @ Suntec and connect to Wireless@SG. If the connection sucks, blog about it at the Istana!

Don’t forget, he/she has to have a World of Warcraft account, preferably “For the Horde!”.

MediaSlut, I share your aspiration for the next generation future PM. To add on, I like the next PM to develop Web 2.0 that get review in Techcrunch and not end up in Deadpool during his first term.

That’s really high hopes I feel for the next PM. All I wish is for the next PM to know more about the internet.

I just want a PM who I can identify with, who’s not out of touch with the rest of us folk, and recognises that Singapore is and can be a functioning parliamentary democracy that cares for its people without any comebacks.

Hi TMS, you forgot to add Twitter! Haha.
I want to know what the SG PM is doing at times.
It would be fun to see a twitter saying like “Meeting with SM ongoing at my place”.

The next PM? Why the rush? The current PM is still around. In this day and age, he really needs to get some help on the net. By the way, has anyone realise that he has a Diploma in CS. From a Gov site:

“He studied at the University of Cambridge, graduating with a Degree in Mathematics and a Diploma in Computer Science. He also obtained a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.”
