Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the deputy prime minister of Malaysia, has launch a personal website called 1Malaysia.

In an introductory video, the Deputy Prime Minister said he hoped the site would develop into a free and open platform for dialogue.

“Rational dialogue,” he noted, “to discuss the things that matter deeply to us as a nation.”

“While I may not always agree with you, be assured that your views will be heard,” he said, adding that he welcomed different views and perspectives.

“What makes Malaysia unique is the diversity of our people … and I want to preserve this diversity and unity,” he added.

However, the recent arrest of Sin Chew journalist under the Internal Security Act may see those with opposing views get arrested under ISA for their protection too.
