Abalone set meal at RM99
themediaslut also spent a few days at Genting Highlands, Malaysia. Its a very know casino resort area in the moutains and themediaslut lost RM50 on jackpot.. themediaslut wondered how some can play jackpot whole day pressing buttons.

Up themediaslut went to Genting Highlands by the cable cars. The queue was long but it was fast moving and within 30mins we were up on our way to Genting.
We were promised some animatrics.. but there weren’t any..except we saw a couple of wax still figures representing village life on the hills.

"Hey! Come back," said the Village people," you dropped your wallet!"

themediaslut stayed at First World Hotel. A piece of advise.. asked for a room with a view of the moutains or theme park. Otherwise you would be stuck facing somebody’s room.
The room at First World is indeed small. Its also true that the toliets are so small that you can only read tabloid newspaper and there isn’t enough room for broadsheets. No wonder the broadsheets are dying.
"Where’s the RM99++ abalone meal?" you asked…
Here’s the abalone and a rundown of it.

First dish: Sharks’ fins soup.. with chicken…

Second dish: The abalone and this was the normal one.

Second dish: This abalone was from Mexico.. cost an additional RM30. Seeya in my tummy, amigo!

Third dish: Although it doesn’t lookappertising, this dish is of a piece of yam wrapped in steamed bacon and then grilled…

Fourth Dish: Fried rice with crab meat in banana leave..

Final dishes: Bird’s nest topping on a egg tart and almond paste soup. To themediaslut’s surprise, not many Malaysians like almond and subsitutes are available…

After the meal, themediaslut headed to the sky rocket. Against contary belief, sitting such rides actually help digestion and did not cause any throwing up.
Glorious, glorious food in KL
themediaslut was in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, for the Christmas weekend with her girlfriend/s and will be in KL for the New Year weekend too.
Celcom is one of the mobile operators in Malaysia and has came up with this advertising campaign for proclaiming almost every area which has Celcom coverage as its territory.
Quite interesting to proclaim an area when one has coverage.
What happen to the good old planting of a flag?

Fans of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code would have loved this mural at a shoe shop.
It’s a rendition of The Last Supper but as you can see, women are more celebrated this time round..
Alright, enough of advertisements and murals. Here’s the food.
What’s a trip to KL without Bak Kut Teh (Pork Ribs Soup with Tea)? themediaslut was bought to the outskirts of KL to taste some of the better Bak Kut Teh that is not listed on any maps or guide books.

Only the locals know of this place.
Look at the layer of oil floating.. Yummy!

This is a very self service place as we had to make our own tea. Luckily friends brought the tea leaves. Otherwise it would just be Bak Kut (Pork Ribs) and no Teh (tea).

Cute dog at Bak Kut Teh place. Some side distraction.
After this, it was dessert time and we scoured the streets for roadside durians.

Finally, themediaslut and gang found one stall…

Look at this chicken (little) drumstick shaped durian.. Look how soft, yellow and tender the meat is on this durian. It was almost the perfect durian as it tasted very milky…
Do not scroll down further if you find eating durian disgusting… The ectasy of eating the perfect durian (some say its better than sex)!

Ohhh… look at the last pics.. those eyes…..

"Enough of pics of my girlfriend, you slut!" says the jealous boyfriend,"go find your own girlfriend."

"I said ENOUGH!"

"Enough of KL, you say," said themediaslut, "you go back to Singapore!"
Once themediaslut chased away her annoying friends back to Singapore.. she tucked into more food…

Look at this steamed fish…. themediaslut thinks its a garoupa.. but can any fish experts verify?

Look at this hot and sour crabs.. One can only find chilli crabs or pepper crabs in Singapore. This is uniquely Malaysia….
These two dishes, plus another plate of fried rice, enough to feed four hungry people, cost only RM120… that’s like SGD60…
See what you missed if you don’t listen to themediaslut and stay an extra day in KL… see!

Rowling’s next book
Dan-Radcliffe.net spotted that Lorraine Lim, from Today, might have gotten the title of the next Harry Porter book from hoax site.
Will the real SPG please stand up
Asia-Pundit commented that Wanbao newspaper had photographed Xiaxue as THE Sarong Party Girl and THE Sarong Party Girl as Xiaxue.
The Pundit wrote that "I’m also concerned that SPG’s chances of a modeling gig or book deal may be damaged by this".
Afghanistan taken out of map?
l.z.y./Data noted The Straits Times may have taken out Afghanistan from an AFP/Reuters/AP picked up and wrote "As for the ST’s mistake, it probably just came from an over-zealous editor wanting to save space".
the only reason why themediaslut is critical of the newspaper is not that themediaslut hates the local press. Its actually the other way round. themediaslut is a news junkie just like Craig.
